Janaki is the Founder of Loving Arms Childbirth Services and teaches childbirth preparation along with Alice Elliot, Carol Shattuck-Rice, Molly Brannigan, Blythe Lee, Jennifer Marks and Anna Hurty.
Janaki has been working with pregnant women, their partners and families since 1975. Her passion for helping moms with pregnancy, labor and breastfeeding began with her own three children, now grown. She is also a proud grandmother of three breastfed grandchildren!
Janaki has been a La Leche League Leader since 1975, a Doula and Childbirth Educator since 1994 and became a Board Certified Lactation Consultant in 1995. Now in private practice, she helps mothers with a range of breastfeeding issues. She has attended several hundred births as a birth doula and loves caring and supporting new moms, babies and partners during such an important and vulnerable time.
Our class with Janaki was amazing- everything I could have wanted (and many things I didn’t know I wanted) in a childbirth class. I work in the medical field and signed up thinking the experience would be very beneficial for my husband to “get him up to speed” and was shocked at how much I learned just in the first class alone. The 8 weeks was the perfect amount of time to go into the details of labor and delivery, a variety of labor coping techniques, information about the immediate postpartum period with baby, and the best one time class on breastfeeding you could get.
